Francesco Ardelli has over a decade of hands-on experience in the capture and acclimatization of Sumatran rhinoceroses, during which he was involved in the translocation of 18 individuals, all but one arriving safely at zoological institutions worldwide. Since August 2018, he has served as the IUCN SSC Sumatran Rhino Coordinator in Indonesia, managing the Sumatran Rhino Rescue Project and coordinating all project partners.
